A Welsh Style Tribute Stout. Pronounced “Gwin Dee,” this robust dark beer is named for Paul Marshall’s distant in-laws who owned the famed Welsh winery said to be the real birthplace of Guinness stout. A historic blend of roasted barley, black and chocolate malts produce a smooth stout with notable dark chocolate and coffee aromas. This Welsh tribute stouts dry finish counterbalances the boldness of its roasted grains.

Tasted on tap at Cambie tap house, pours ink black with little to no head. Smells of roasty toasty malts and has a slight peppery spice with a little bit of a rough mouthfeel. Overall I enjoyed it as one of Draught's better stouts and a pretty good example of the style.

Appearance- 2 finger caramel colored head, laces down the glass, onyx black (not translucent at all even when held up to the light)
Smell- chocolate and espresso, oat sweetness and malt toasted bitterness, hops on the lighter side
Taste- sweet chocolate and coffee, midmouth dark malts and graininess, finish is drier and bitter
Mouthfeel- full bodied with a more velvet smoothness that sticks around on the tongue
Overall- an oatmeal stout that sticks to the style, hope to get again

On time, with potential to continue on...
Pours a clarified dark brown with a tan foam cap. nose of oats, hay, some cocoa and leather et turbinado sugar. Some herbal hops and coffee aplenty in the flavor for me. Full bodied and smooth, nice dry finish. Nice beer. I'd drink again in the cold season.
