California common beer is light amber to medium-amber in color. There is a noticeable degree of caramel-type malt character in flavor and often in aroma. Hop flavor and aroma is low to medium-low. The balance between fruity esters and malt character give an impression of balance and drinkability.

At the brewery.
Pours light golden with thick white foam. Nose carries corn, light floral tones and grain. Flavor is simple: slightly sweet grain with a bit of corn and herbal hops. Thin with moderate on hi carb. Dry finish. Decent beer, crisp, good for the hot and dry heat.
