Coconut hides in the background, and compliments the general nuttiness of this beer, while softening it a tad with some subtle sweetness. Aroma is pure porter, while taste is a bit bolder, although in addition to the mild sweet flavor, there’s some soapiness also. Still trying to figure this one out.

really pretty sweet here, a one and done sugar level maybe for me, but also arguably the best beer i had in here, although i wasnt particularly impressed with the others. this has a lot of coconut on it, which kind of makes it, both a fleshy sweet aspect like you might find in a candy bar, and a toasted, almost nutty property that is great with the darker malt and gives this some needed depth, not sure how this porter would be on its own, maybe fine, but definitely unexciting. there isa good roasted bit to this where some cocoa notes come out that work so well with the coconut, but the sweetness overrides this nuance, and its way too much, a cooked vibe and some brown sugar to it, this should have been fermented down a bit drier for sure. i think it could also stand to benefit from some english yeast or something, this beer doesnt have much going on or really enough to keep it beery outside of the dark malt, so some bready old world ale yeast could bea good add if they are looking to make this a little more dynamic. if not, its fine, just a sweet and really coconut forward beer, maybe light in body for a porter too, but not bad, better than some others i have had in idaho so far in this style...
