this one was pretty weak, maybe my least favorite offering from our visit here, a simple raspberry blonde ale that really has no business being anything other than delicious, its basic stuff, not sure why they could do so many other things pretty well, but missed like this on this one. there is a weird penolic thing to the yeast that makes no sense in this, and the while thing has a sort of chemical wash to it, something has gone wrong with the fermentation, and nobody seems to have recognized that. there is a nice light pink to rose color to the beer and pretty good clarity. it smells like raspberry jelly or something, sweet but not overly artificial or candy-like to me, although lacking the tang of the natural fruit. the flavor of the fruit is kind of chemical too though, like a lotion more than a fruit, and it mixes in oddly. the basic blonde ale seems like the problem though, thin and without much beer character, and with the messed up fermentation profile. definitely a beer they need to work on, but fortunately we liked the rest of the beers we had here a lot better than this one!
