Reviewed from notes. Poured from a 12 oz. can into an El Catador Barrel-Aged glass.

A: A rich dark brown, essentially opaque. A fair amount of visible carbonation, especially for such an opaque beer, leads to a finger's worth of tan head with average retention.

S: Black coffee that just sat a little too long on the burner. Roasted dark malts and mild green pepper to the coffee. Bits of cocoa and hop bitterness mix with some vanilla, leather and cola.

T: Coffee, with more chocolate and vanilla than I got on the nose. Sweet malts with a decent amount of roast character. Still some leathery sweetness, but minimal if any green pepper on the palate. Mild hop bitterness with sweet mocha malts in the hang.

M: Average body for a non-imperial stout. Low carbonation sensation – a bit low even for style, but not obnoxious or flat. Minimal alcohol presence.

O: This isn't anything exciting or different. Wherever you are, you’ve got something just as good if not better on your local shelves, I’d almost guarantee it. But it’s a solid coffee stout in cans, especially when Total Wine has a sixer on sale for 3.99. Reasonably good, and while not memorable I’ll enjoy the rest of the cans I have.

Black in color with no light seeping through this. There's a fingernail of brown resting on top. The nose is a wallop of dark roasted coffee. I'm tasting a very strong dose of black coffee and dark malt. The mouth is lightly oily and a touch watery.

First time trying a can of this coffee stout.
A-Poured into a pint glass this dark brown opaque brew had a 1/2 finger of tan head with some stickiness.
S-Coffee, chocolate, smells tasty
T-A nice coffee stout, not overpowering in any way. A nice smooth beer with clean flavors that you would expect in a coffee stout.
M-Moderately carbonated. Love the clean finish.
O-If a coffee stout can be a crusher, this is it. Not the most complex in the category but it gets points for being clean, tasty and easy drinking.

Poured from a 12 oz can, into a Cigar City snifter.

Frothy, khaki colored,1 finger head, with small to large bubbles.Black/brown in color, with not much light coming through the glass. Not much carbonation after the cascade ends.

Lots of coffee on the nose,as expected. Also getting some dark roasted malts.A little bit of an earthy scent as well.

The palate follows the nose...Lots of coffee, and roasted malts.I'm also getting some sweet malts, chocolate, and maybe a little bit of pine.

The body is medium, and the finish is on the borderline of wet and dry.

This is a pretty good stout, especially for the coffee lover.Wouldn't mind drinking this one again.
