passed these up a few times but finally grabbed a sixer on sale while getting some groceries. dumped out a dark brown with a big ol khaki head thats left a few sticky chunks of lacing behind. stubborn ring of foam sits on top. nose is mostly just coffee, with a caramel sweetness cutting underneath. flavor is more coffee, some cream, caramel and a bitter aftertaste. it's a bit one note but it's a good note. medium bodied and almost soft on the mouth. really glad these guys made it to my area.

This Sweetwater offering pours a gorgeous dark mocha brown with a Light Beige head, about one finger thick. It has an aroma that is largely coffee and caramel. It is an absolutely gorgeous aroma, one that I absolutely love. The taste it is more of the same - coffee and caramel. I am an IPA guy, but if I am going to drink a porter, this beer is one of the porters I will drink. It finishes with a nice mouthfeel that particularly covers the tongue. Outside of a porter (Peoples) from my local Brewery, Foothills Brewing, I think this is my favorite Porter out right now.

Exodus has a thick, beige head, a dark brown appearance, and moderate glass lacing. The aroma is of dark coffee, cream, caramel, and malt. The flavor is the same, with some unfortunate cigarette ash. Mouthfeel is medium, and Exodus finishes midway wet/dry.

SweetWater rarely disappoints and this is definitely one of those cases (where it doesn't...)

I really liked thed pitch black look of the beer with its tannish head. The smell was all coffee, which in itself isn't a bad thing but I was expecting more from it and thus rated it accordingly. Mouthfeel was somewhere between light- and medium-bodied with a slight astringent feel to the tongue. The taste was very good, notes of coffee (of course) , a malt forward taste, and hints of chocolate. This was a very good beer one I am glad to still have a few to enjoy...

Mild coffee and roast aroma, pours a dark, clear, ruby with a light tan head. Slightly sweet caramel and roast notes are the predominant flavor. The coffee is there more as an afternote, instead of being the primary flavor. Slightly thin body, but very drinkable. Overall a solid Porter.

Best by 3/4/19. 12oz can poured into a tulip. Pours almost black with a big fluffy khaki head that slowly falls leaving great thick retention and sticky lacing. The aromas are mild and malt forward along with some hints of cocoa and vanilla. The coffee doesn't really come through in the aroma department. The flavors are bolder than the nose. Some dark chocolate. More hints of vanilla. The coffee comes through in the flavor department. Roasted characteristics are there. Malts do their thing without dominating. Solid bitterness. Finishes dry. Alcohol goes unnoticed. Mouthfeel is nice. It's on the lighter side of medium-bodied with active carbonation. It's sharp, fluffy, smooth and easy to drink.

This is a solid "coffee porter". It's not flashy, but it's enjoyable and fun to drink. Not bad at all.

Not a big porter fan but, yeah! It’s a great tasting coffee porter. My current favorite. Thought about stocking up. Prominent coffee taste, with slight hint of chocolate aftertaste. Beats out other major brand porters.

Not bad...but too thin of a mouthfeel for a porter.

12oz can. Poured out an opaque, jet-black color with a large, khaki-colored head of foam. It smelled of coffee, chocolate and toffee. Mild coffee flavor with toasted caramel and chocolate.

Appearance - Pours dark cola color with thick light tan head with excellent retention. Once ti settles it forms a thin ring with spotty lacing.

Aroma - Lots of roasted malts and chocolate, coffee may have fallen off a bit I am not getting much coffee at all. Light vanilla combined with a nutty aroma.

Taste - Lots of chocolate, roasted malts, the coffee comes out much better for me in the taste than the nose. There is again the light vanilla taste on the finish. Bitter nut shell taste on the finish as well that seems to go away once it warms a bit.

Feel - Feel is light side of medium, carbonation is a little high gives a little prickly feel on the tongue. Slightly dry finish.
