-clear, deep golden tap pour with fine effervescence. Nose is muted, a bit of citrus (orange and lemon) and Brett aroma. Flavor is crisp, tangy with a slight Brett influence. Fruit is present. There is some hop bitterness, but the low level of tartness makes this a good starter for someone wishing to try the style. Finish is moderately dry. Not complex, but quite enjoyable. (No smoke here).

Poured from tap into shaker, 1 finger head, recedes slowly, nice lacing. Clear golden in the glass. Pinapple and citrus to the nose. Taste initially pineapple, tartness and all, some apricot mixed in. Nice tartness on the end. Nice beer

Traded for this up in Totowa, never having this beer before. I tend to like American Wild Ales a lot but there was something about this one that didn't quite click with me. It was probably the amount of Brett Yeast here and how overpowering it was, along with the accompanying flavors. Thankfully, the alcohol wasn't that potent as the "Wild" side of this able to show through, uninhibited.
This had a nice pour to it as the beer was a beautiful shiny and hazy goldenrod with lots of head on top of it. Tons of wild funk and sour tartness in the nose with more of those in the taste. The citric "sting" of the grapefruit was quite strong as well as the hint of raspberry that lent itself to the juice and tartness underneath that. Some orange was here as well, as this beer was quite juicy and earthy at the same time. Much of the latter was found in the aftertaste as the Brett yeast truly emerged once the liquid from each sip went down.
While not strong when it came to the alcohol, the flavor profile kept this from being something to enjoy too quickly. I can see why people enjoy this but this was one of those beers that took a while to warm up - literally and proverbially. I did like it a bit more as I worked my way through it though it was a bit odd when all was said and done. Given how many strong and hoppy beers are out there, that's not necessarily a bad thing. I'm glad I got to have this once, just to broaden my horizons a bit!

Appearance: Pours a hazy amber and the bubble show produces a thick head that reaches three fingers; decent, but not great, retention but the foam leaves a few shards behind
Smell: Vinous and Bretty funk; pineapple, apricot and grapefruit tones
Taste: Grapefruit and apricot flavors forward, with Bretty funk and vinous tones building through the middle; some pineapple appears, in the rear, but the finish is quite funky with considerable hoppy bitterness
Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation
Taste: It will be interesting to see how this beer develops; right now the hops overpower the Brett

Not your typical Belgian IPA.... Brett is just beginning its work here and in a few months I have a feeling this will be a beast... The hops are pungent and bitter while clipped by the bacteria and it's funk... Really liked this and will pick more up...

This Brett infused beer is like no other. Great smell. The taste is way better then expected. Lots of complex fruity flavors. Juicy and delicious! 4.50
