From the growler via Jungle Jim's Eastgate in a snifter. This decent little
imperial pours a dark and murky blackish brown with a moderate head of
pale brown foam that subsides to a thick ring, subtle light pooling layer and
showcases spotty lacing. Nose of heavy raspberries, dark cocoa, and a touch of coffee
with some molasses and cream. Flavors follow the nose with cream touched molasses and
a large quantity of raspberries doused in char notes featuring dark cocoa. Decent mouth feel
showcases full body, lightly slick, low carbonation, and a tart lightly dry finish that is subtly
warming.
Overall, a solid little imperial.
Cheers

On tap at Bonds Tavern in West Orange. Pours a jet black ebony hue with moderate frothing. Mellow aroma replete with hints of chocolate and molasses. Similar overall flavor profile.

On tap in Greenville, SC.
Pours opaque dark brown with a good tan head. Plenty of lacing.
There's a load of raspberries in this lightly sweet stout but, given this, in good balance with the rich flavors from dark roasted malts. Enough hops to keep the sweetness to a near perfect level.
Feel; superb full, creamy yet lively mouthfeel.

Big head and amazing clingy lacing. Malt and berries on the nose. Taste is full of milk chocolate, raspberries and a bitter chocolate hoppy finish and aftertaste. Also some sweetness

Pours dark in a darker bar so not sure how much light would shine through. Bar pour head so not sure if it's tan or darker some spotty lace.
Aroma is nice sweet milk chocolate and raspberries dominate this one. Some light roasted notes underneath the sweetness. Maybe some light smokey notes.
Taste is like the nose big chocolate and raspberries. Sweet to start some roasted notes in the middle. Finish is lingering raspberry light coffee and some liquorice hints. Amazing how much raspberry is noticeable in this big stout, wonder if it's raspberries or a puree of some sort?
Mouthfeel a big medium but short of full, carbonation not as smooth as it could be but not bad.
Overall is wonderful, chocolate covered raspberries more or less. Loving it, Good Job Sweetwater.
