poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass. The appearance is a clear gold color with a medium sized white head. The aroma is malt and grass. The taste is a very nice blend of malt, hops and wheat.

L - Golden with clarity, 1 finger of head. Typical Mexican lager appearance
S - Malty, grass
T - Malty, rice, grains, with a hint of lime
F - Crisp, medium body
O - Right on par with a Mexican lager, can't fault them for nailing the style, but it's nothing you can't find in a Corona box

A surprise fine in the 12er I picked up recently - quite hoppy for a lager...
The first time I've come across a SweetWater 12-pack that had a single sample from something called the "hatchery series". This one named the Mexican Lager and it was certainly decent. It has a nice amber-color with tinges of orange, but a smell that was mostly malty with a distant hint of citrus. The feel was lightly carbonated as well as light-bodied and the taste was as I mentioned above quite hoppy for a lager. This beer reminds more more of an ale than anything else. Anyway, it's decent, not the best SweetWater puts out, but good enough for me to keep an eye out on other hatchery series releases.

Appearance: Clean golden, with a nice near-white head and limited lace.
Aroma: Malty with a hint of hops. Pleasant if unremarkable.
Taste: Dry and bready, with a hint of bitterness at finish. Solid drinker, again an easy drinking brew from the pretty reliable SweetWater.
