Notes: Every year, millions of tons of single-use plastic finds its way into streams, rivers and oceans — and the problem is only getting worse.

We’re teaming up with our fellow nature-lovers at Costa Sunglasses to mobilize a movement and help protect our watery world. Together we can #KickPlastic.

This Czech-style pils pops with herbal notes and tropical fruit aroma, balanced by malty, oceanic characters on the palate.

Clear, lighter shade of gold color with beautiful white cap and lacing.

Sweet floral aroma that's also fruity and a bit spicy.

Fresh bread flavor at that comes across as slightly spicy and washed down with a glass of mixed citrus juice. Hops are along for the full ride and show some firmness in the finish.

Medium texture with balancing carbonation.

My impression overall is a Dortmunder style Pilsner with some American twists, very clean and quite refreshing.

Appearance: Clear gold. Excellent mouse-like head with very good retention. Initial fast rising bubbles. Slow after a minute or two.

Aroma: No detectible alcohol. Spicy and floral aromas. Did not detect any fruit-like aromas.

Flavor & aftertaste: Spicy/herbal flavor. Restrained, but noticeable bitterness. Grainy malt tastes. Low sweetness.

Palate: Mostly dry and soft with low carbonation. Medium finish with no offensive residual bitterness.

Balance: Very well balanced.

Admittedly, I had moderate expectations for this beer, Sweetwater being more know for Pale Ale and IPA. Wow, I was pleasantly surprised! Cannot find a lot to complain about with this. Very traditional and easy drinking. This was a seasonal release; but I think Sweetwater should release this one as a year round. It's quite good. Lager fans will like it.

10/15/19 on bottom of can. Poured into a Sam Adams Perfect Pint glass.

A: Brilliant clarity, straw gold, foamy 1-finger white hear with good retention and lacing.

S: Aroma is light in intensity with pils and light Munich graininess and herbal, floral hops and hint of sulfur

T: Solid American-Czech pils as the hopping is a combo of floral and light pineapple, honeydew melon, and honeysuckle, more fruity but seems from hopping as not ester-like in quality. Bitterness is low-medium.

M: Light and crisp with medium carbonation and dry finish.

O: A super-enjoyable American style Czech pils — nice job by SweetWater.

On tap. Poured a clear, straw-yellow color with a small, white head of foam. It smelled of caramel, floral notes and fruitiness. Sweet caramel with a fruity presence and subtle bitterness.

From a twelve ounce can, this one is a clear, light golden hazy colored beer. The head is impressive. The aroma has some faint grain and floral notes...that is it. Okay. The taste is balanced....but flavorful. Fruit, light malt, and floral hops. All in all, this one isn't bad.

12 oz. can BB 8/21/19 - sipped from can, then poured into small flute glass
Looks- nice straw gold, forms nice thick white head which lingers
Not getting much aroma at all, faint floral grain maybe?
Taste is sweet light malt and some proper hopping, much better than a macro , and not too bready
Feels about right for a beach boat beer. I am at/on neither, but it takes me there, almost. Probably really good there.
Would accept at a party, and possibly buy again for a hot day.`

12 ounce can. Pours a mostly clear gold with a decent white head. Aroma of malt, grain, grass, and a bit of citrus. Taste is similar. Decent Pilsner.

Pours a really nice dark gold with inch of white head. Earthy and herbal nose, malt accented flavor balanced with plenty of Saaz hops. I detected a favorable likeness to Urquell. Very refreshing, crisp summer pils. Worthy of a repeat purchase.

12oz can stamped 09/22/19 poured into a pokal glass at fridge temp 5.3% ABV. The beer pours bright golden straw yellow with nearly white head. The head builds quickly and slowly recedes to a thin cap. Moderate lacing. The aroma is faint with pale malt and earthy hops. The taste is pils malt forward with grassy hops and a firm, but low bitterness throughout. The mouthfeel is thin to medium bodied, adequately carbonated and dry in the finish. Overall, very good. A really nice pilsner with no off flavors or flaws.

Really nice Czech-style pilsner, there’s a bit of a brownish tinge to the color that is a bit strange, but the Saaz hops and the Pilsner malt are absolutely on point. Very enjoyable example of the style, IMHO.

12 ounce can - $2.29 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia.

Appearance: Pours a light golden body, a bit of haze to it and a rather tall, near white head. Light lacing.

Smell: Presents a doughy, crackery maltiness with a thin sniff of florals, honey and citrus with an even fainter hint of diacetyl.

Taste: Lightly bready, crackery, doughy malts with a low, light sweetness. Floral, a little tang of citrus. Quick brush of diacetyl. Soft bitterness. Remains lightly fruity on the gentle finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-thin body. Medium carbonation.

Overall: Refreshing, easy-drinking.

Very flavorful, crisp, tasty beer from a solid brewery. Pours a darker golden color with abundant fluffy white head after a rocky pour, and sheets of fine lingering lacing that slowly faded. Smells of some roasted nuts, malt, toast, faint muddled fruity zest hops and caramel. Taste follows the nose, along with some vanilla. Good balance, nice toasted nutty flavors and very smooth and easy to drink. Smooth, mild mouthfeel, good carbonation. Definitely sessionable!

This beer smells like Sweet Water's Guide Beer, but tastes like it has different hops and has a higher alcohol percentage for that kick you in the pants good vibes.

Straightforward and easy drinking. Not really a Czech style pilsner. Nor a German style pilsner but fun to drink and crushable. Great to drink in the summertime and very refreshing.
I think that's what Sweetwater is going for. A great beer to drink at the beach, baseball games or fishing. Appearance is slightly cloudy. A hint of banana and hops in the aroma. Dry in taste, yeasty, and hops on the backend. A great summer brew. Cheers!!

Had Kick Plastic Pilsner, part of an effort by SweetWater to #KickPlastic with Costa Sunglasses by mobilizing a movement to “help protect our watery world,” at the Sweetwater Taproom, Atlanta, on draft into pint tumbler.

The board promised a pilsner with herbal notes, fruit aroma, and oceanic character (?), but this is a quite enjoyable bog-standard Czech pilsner.
