Appearance: Hazy deep golden in color, with a large, dense white head, which, unfortunately soon collapses. Ragged lacing coats the glass wall. The suspended carbonation is rather sparse.
Aroma: Prominent sweet alcohol notes, almost perfume-like vie with moderate herbal hop notes, and as surprising as it is to say this in a beer review, Gummy Bears. I am not a particular fan of Gummy Bears, but my wife adores them, and so the aroma is quite familiar. This will be a wild ride.
Taste: The taste begins with a fruit punch and Gummy Bear note, soon followed by a surge of herbal hops. As the taste progresses, there is sweet alcohol with a slightly warming character and medicinal hops. As the taste reaches its end, the medicinal hops dance with the sweet alcohol. The hops carry the day.
Mouth feel: Soft and very full, quite pleasant, with faint carbonation to add interest.
Drinkability/notes: It is an example that might cause some to ask: "Why?". I, however, I ask: "Why not?". The result may not be your personal ideal; however, without experimentation, how would new styles arise? I find nothing appalling here. This is worthy of a try, if only to broaden one's beer horizon.
Presentation: Packaged in a standard twelve-ounce aluminum can, served in a South American-style Pilsener glass.

Hm, this is a strange one. This is an IPA in the same sense that “red” is a flavor in the Hawaiian Punch lexicon. It tastes very much like Hawaiian Punch, maybe a version made with reclaimed water. I bought these with low expectations given the rating and it is in line with the reviews. A good beer for someone who either does not like beer, or maybe is underage, or probably both. Packs a punch (!!!) at 9.5 Would not buy again. I do like their other stuff though, especially the Dank Double.

19.2 oz can poured into a pint
A- pours pinkish red color with a one finger off white head that has short retention
S- smells just like Hawaiian Punch; cherry, artificial sweeteners
T- sweet cherry cough syrup up front, mid palate gives a bit of tootsie roll with some generic hops, the finish gives more cherry cough syrup
M- medium body with medium carbonation, foamy mouthfeel and finish
O- reminds me of my college days and Four Loko

Look -12 oz can purchased from the brewery, poured into a small clear plastic cup. dark golden in color, with a large head that mostly dissipates, leaving behind trace lacing.
Smell - really does smell like fruit punch, with a mix of cherries and other tropical fruits. a tad bit artificiallly sweet, but scent is pleasant overall.
Taste - light tartness hits the palate first, followed by malts and some of the fruits detected in the smell. hops are present but not at all dominating. in fact, there's not enough bitterness to balance off some of the initial sweetness. finish is light malts with some slightly off tones.
Feel - medium bodied, above average carbonation, and a heavy hitter at 9.5% ABV. alcohol is decently well masked by sweetness, but warmness detectable in finish.
Overall - an overly sweet, mildly artificial, and quite boozy double IPA (if it can even be categorized as that) with very low bitterness, and kind of tastes like a malty cough syrup. conceptually this was a difficult beer to get right, so I applaud SweetWater for at least trying.

12 oz can poured into pint glass. ( Let me preface this my stating I had this following a Founders KBS, possibly the best (and strongest (12%)) Pale Ale.
Golden color with a tinge of orange to it, very little head, dissipated quickly but remained a thin disjointed layer atop the pour throughout. (look 3.5)
A very pleasant, true to its name fruit punch smell . (smell 4.50)
A refreshing ale, although a far cry from an IPA. Very flat, no hop profile to speak of. It goes down extremely easy, Could easily pound one of these after mowing the lawn. (taste 3.00)
Mouth feel is almost non-existent, other than a slight tinge at the back of the throat. (feel 2.75)
Overall a pretty poor Imperial IPA. The scent is actually pleasant, reminiscent of a childhood Hi-C or Kool-Aid (Even if that isn't my normally preferred brew). It fall flat in terms of flavor and feel though. Drinkable, but has lingered in my beer fridge longer than most other offerings. Also, the wife loves fruity beers and does not like this one, so take that as you will. (overall 3.0)
EDIT: did not realize this beer was 9%, it crept up on me, especially after having a 12% before it.

SweetWater Brewing Co. "Fruit Punch IIPA"
19.2 fl. oz. can coded "01/05/25 ATL2150" and sampled on 12/07/24
$2.99 @ Total Wine & More, Claymont, DE
Notes via stream of consciousness: Having tried the Gummies Tropical IIPA I had to try this. It's poured a hazy deep golden body beneath a finger's width of white foam. It smells something like Hawaiian Punch, and that's coming from "natural flavors". It's candyish and tropical with some alcohol showing. It's not the brightest aroma, but you wouldn't miss it. The taste is on the sweet side, and it reminds me of a gummi worm. I mostly get pineapple, cherry, and orange in a candied-fruit kind of way. The malt is sugary and and bready, supporting the flavorings. The alcohol at 9.5% is clear but doesn't come across as harsh. It's medium-full in body and gently crisp in the mouth. It finishes sweetish but drying fairly quickly, not doubt helped by the alcohol.

It’s actually got a good smell to it. Decent color. Highly carbonated with a large and quickly dissipating head. The taste is the issue. My first thought was dirty bandaids. Yes it has fruit punch. Raspberries etc. but this beer is just OFF. Its bad.

Terrible taste. I was thinking it would have hints of fruit punch, though it's possible they literally mixed fruit punch with an IPA. Would not recommend drinking this at all. As others indicate, I took one sip and poured the rest straight down the drain, and threw away the rest. Lesson learned.

Living where I do, people come and go. I got a new neighbor, and I noticed he likes imbibing on IPA. Naturally, I wanted to strike up a conversation. As a fellow beer nut, maybe on the side of lunatic, I enjoy a good conversation about beer. A wonderful conversation ensued, and he said, "Hey, I got a beer for you." Curiosity got the best of me, and I replied, "Oh yeah" he then said, "It is a Gummie IPA." I was thinking what the hell, it is like Watermelon Dorado? So tonight, he sees me and, with a shit-eating grin, tells me to wait and goes and fetches it. Ask me to take a sip. Now, I discussed how I ended up reviewing this beer-let me begin. The Gummies Fruit Punch is a unique Double IPA brewed with a blend of hops and adjuncts to give it a distinct fruit punch aroma and flavor.
I am serving the beer at 46 degrees in a tulip glass. The pour created a frothy, creamy, one-fingered, white head with poor retention. The quick dissipation left no lacing on the glass, only a thin white ring around the beer. The color is dark amber with rusty orange hues and transparent, charting at SRM 12. The beer's appearance is below average. I would have liked to have witnessed a longer-lasting head.
When I smelled the beer initially, I noticed an artificial fruit punch Kool-Aid aroma with some phenols. Diving further into the aromas, I smell strawberries, tangerines, grass, floral esters, and earthy notes. The malt profile is there but not prominent; it has notes of lightly toasted malts, doughy, bready, and wort. Gummies Fruit Punch IPA is interesting; I would figure the brewers would use hops instead adjuncts to give the fruit punch aroma. The aromas are not as pleasing to my nose, especially when compared to the more traditional hop-forward aromas of other IPAs.
The flavors start with a unique blend of an artificial, yet strangely appealing, cheap grocery store fruit punch, mixed with the freshness of oranges and strawberries. The hop profile adds a layer of complexity with its grassy, floral esters, resin, pine, tarragon, and grapefruit. The profile is rounded off with lightly toasted malts, bready, doughy, and a hint of malty sweetness.
The beer has a medicinal tannic finish and an astringent mouthfeel. Its body is medium and its carbonation is medium.
I thought the aroma was a bit strange, but the taste is much worse. This beer makes this IPA almost undrinkable. The fruit flavor clashes with the hop profile, creating a unique experience. The artificiality of the flavor, mixed with real tangerines and strawberries, makes this doomsday punch, because it would be the last thing you would sip before dying.

It’s definitely a fruit punch beer that has a lot of booze, lives up to the name, you know what you get, not worth trash talking this, it lives up to the name!
