Chose this to do a quick rating at Hooley’s. Have liked the few Finest Made beers I’ve had and had been wanting to try this one for a long time.
Was very dark at Hooley’s, but appeared to be a golden clear color with two fingers of off-white frothy head when I got it. Just a few bubbles coming up from the bottom of the glass. Very good spotty webbed lacing. Good retention. (Sight - 3.50)
Smelled Simcoe, lactose, melon, cantaloupe, slightly spoiled fruit, orange blossom, stone fruit, peach, nectarine and floral. (Smell - 3.75)
Tasted maltier than the nose. Mango, bitter tangerine peel, spicy Simcoe, melon, peach, nectarine, stone fruit and spoiled orange. (Taste - 3.50)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long finish. (Feel - 3.75)
This was good overall, although I think I overrated it just a tad. Not really New England Style at all, but more just like a West Coast IPA. (Overall - 3.50)
