L-Pours a decent headed pale ale with a nice lacy and frothy head.
S-Smells of nice brett, bubblegum, funk and citrus. The citrusy aroma works very well with the funky brett.
T- Follows the nose. Nice sweet and tart fruity citrus, bitter hops, interesting funk. A good juiciness. Drinks well altogether.
F- Medium bodied. Nice mouthfeel with slight carbonation.
O-Overall pretty good. Nothing too special but tasty enough with enough originality to keep it interesting in every sip.

i have dabbled with beers from these guys quite a bit over the years, but this recent trip to texas hit me with some really solid offerings, some of their best and most ambitious beers to date, this barrelhouse series is really cool, the packaging is sharp, and the two beers i had from it were both excellent. this is a cool brett pale, id doubt if it was fully brett fermented, it tastes kind of young to me, and its not all the way dried out and funked up yet, but the fermentation is quality and the flavor is really good. light orangey colored and clear from the first half and cloudy from the second half of the bottle, high headed and airy looking. aroma of wet animal and grass, its earthy and farmy for sure, just a little citric tartness evident too, but not sour to me, funky but with some almost belgian yeast element as well, mild here, with a lot of malt balance. some sweetness in the flavor from the grain, like this one is still developing, some cellar time will do it well, but i like the back and forth right now, honey and candy sugar meet this newer brett profile in the middle, straw and hay and farmy funk becomes more prominent towards the finish. subtle apple and even apricot notes to it, lots of white wine essence too, and quite a bit of oak. this seems to be well made, but not quite as mature as it should be yet, id be really curious to try this one again in about a year. mouthfeel will benefit from that too with more carbonation and less residual sugar. that said, i enjoyed this quite a bit and i think it shows a new side of deep ellum that i have not experienced in the past!
