Our Double Stout ages in oak bourbon barrels, and artfully emerges as Silva Stout. This midnight black ale features elegant notes of oak, vanilla, dark chocolate, coffee, roasted barley and ripe cherry. Round and delicately balanced in body, each sip envelops the palate with its impressively complex craft composition.

750ml
Caged/Corked
2015 Batch 01
Brewed In: April 2013
Bottled On: February 16, 2015
Aged 18 Months
Thanks to Hojaminbag for turning me onto this brew, Thanks Ben!
Heard alot of bottles where effected, gratefully this one was not.
Poured into a chalice a very nice dark brown/black color, very nice carbonation, with a very nice fizzy one-finger dark tan head, which leaves some nice islands and some sticky lacing behind. The nose is very malty, with some hop notes, lots of nice dark fruits, vanilla, bourbon, chocolate. The taste is pretty freakn' nice, malty, nice little hop note, bourbon, figs, raisins, grapes, chocolate, toffee, coffee, very very nice. Full body, ABV is hidden very very well, the bourbon note is more in the finish. Overall very very tasty brew, let it sit for awhile, to me it takes on more flavour. If I see another bottle around I will pick it up for sure. Highly Recommeded!

750mL (bottled 2/16/2015) into a tulip. Pours a deep oily black w/ minimal head that quickly subsides to next to nothing.
Aroma is big, malty, and boozy. Chocolate, dark roasted malt, some smoke and peat. Also lots of sugary stone fruits: dates, raisins, figs. Almost a cross between an imperial stout and a quad. Intriguing and very different.
Taste is likewise big and sweet, boozy. Chocolate, dates, figs, char from the barrels.
Mouthfeel is slick and oily, coats the palate and lingers. Carbonation is good, keeps it from being syrupy. About right for a big black stout.
Overall a solid sipper of an imperial stout.

Sitting here social distancing during caronavirus and grilling some ckicken.
This is a 2015 offering and I cellared this bottle in the fridge.
Color is fine and enough bubbles adorning my glass make me realize this is still OK.
Not a lot of aroma even after letting it warm up. Taste is more sour oak than charred malts. Not a lot of sugary aftertaste and mouthfeel is kinda bland.
Was hoping for a big bold stout but this one left me wanting ------''''''''------

2015 Bottle
A: Deep brown color, with a black hue, opaque, with almost no head at all.
A: Bourbon forward, with deep chocolate-like roast malts with noticeable stone fruit aromas.
T: Chocolate/coffee like malts, fairly sweet, dried fruit like esters, with a moderate amount of bourbon and oak.
M: Full bodied with moderately light carbonation and light alcoholic warmth.
O: Alright; the beer doesnt have a lot of stout character, a bit on the sweet side with dried fruit character that pairs alright, but not great with the extended barrel aging.

Coffee brown with a large tan foam head.
Smell is roasty and woody with nuts and chocolate, but a little musty staleness.
Taste is toffee, cola, chocolate, roasted nuts, and wood, but hot.

2015 Batch #1: Despite the ratings, this beer aged quite nicely in the cellar...
