Ebony colored pour that's about as dark and rich as you can get. A brilliant caramel head is there. It's a gorgeous beer to look at. Coffee aroma is strong with bourbon overtones. Comes in hot with bourbon and leaves the pallet with a refreshing dark roasted coffee.
= Overall one strong, well blended black ale regardless of the strong alcohol present. Definitely give this one a try.

Poured a black body with one-finger tan head. Booze is hidden in aroma with notes of: wood, vanilla, cherry and hint of butteriness. Smooth, easy drinking beer with hidden alcohol content and excellent balance; has this rich vanilla velvet smoothness and sweetness with hints of cherry/fruit flavors.

On tap at PDX growler guys (somehow).
The beer pours a blackish brown color with good head retention and pretty decent lacing. This beer has a viscous look to it. This has the look of a beer that has seen some serious barrel aging (which as I learned, it has). The nose is impressive, especially if you don't mind a bit of bourbon in your beer. There is a huge bourbon aroma in this beer, though there's plenty of milk chocolate, vanilla, light coffee and milk duds as well. This beer smells sweet and rich, something that was confirmed on the palate. The flavor profile replicates the nose, and while the beer is very, very smooth on the palate, it didn't seem to have that huge mouthfeel presence I get in some BA stouts. Still, the mouthfeel in this beer is pretty full, and the finish in this sweet beer is nearly endless. Also, while the beer is somewhat boozy, the abv. is still pretty well integrated into the flavor profile. There's really no heat in the finish, and so drinkability is pretty decent (though obviously, this is very much a sipper).
Impressive. Easily the best barrel aged beer I've ever had from Green Flash. It took me all of a minute to decide I needed to order a crowler to take home.

Type: 12-oz. draft

Had heard about this one and the reviews were mostly fantastic. Was excited to see it on tap at the pub and heading over to have some High Kicks. Expecting to be in the 4.30-to-4.40 range.
Poured a very dark mahogany, almost pitch black color with 1-to-2 fingers of khaki tan, frothy head when I got it. Good foamy lacing. Average retention. (Sight - 3.75)
Smelled a collective mix of coffee, bourbon, expresso and vanilla. Also rich toffee, caramel, oaky wood and chocolate syrup. (Smell - 4.25)
Taste comes in a bit hot with bourbon. Also coffee, espresso, vanilla, dark roasted coffee, toffee, caramel, chocolate syrup and woody oak. Bourbon dominates here. (Taste - 4.25)
Full body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long, boozy, warming finish. (Feel - 4.50)
I think I slightly overrated this a tad. It was very good though, but I think would be much better with some aging. (Overall - 4.25)
