As dales pale fan, I wanted to like this and I did, as I do most from Green Flash.
A) Pours an amber orange body with moderate white head that settles into a lace and a long-lived patch.
S) The juicy and herbal hop with abundant citrus and pine. Citrus: orange peel, melon, grapefruit, and lemon.
T) Follows aroma, the juicy and herbal hop forward notes of citrus and pine. Continuing with pine and grass, above cracker malt base. Balanced and complex.
F) Medium bodied and carbonation. Crisp, juicy, drying.
O) Almost perfect, prefer more bite.

a great pale ale, on the edge of ipa, super fresh, and one of the better single hop beers i have had from green flash in this series. on tap at federal, its clear and golden color, over an inch of white head, fine retention in the iced pint glass, and lots of carbonation, really nice looking glass of ale here. aroma of tangerine and grassy hop bitterness, pretty complete spectrum for a single varietal, and the flavor matches that completeness. more citrus than i usually think about when i think about nugget hops, there must be a serious late kettle and dry hop on, tangerine and even fresh pineapple from it, this beer is super fresh, almost juicy in this way. the grain base is minimally flavorful, maybe a pinch of crystal malt here, but its dry and light and just right for the hops, beautiful delicate balance. tangerine again, average bitterness, this is really hoppy pale ale, almost ipa in that way, its entirely hop driven with a flavorless yeast and such a light grain profile. green flash sure knows how to do their hoppy stuff, and this is a great one. i never really think about nugget as a sexy fruity hop like this, it certainly has fallen out of vogue, but what a unique flavor it has. cool of green flash to feature it in this way!

A decent pale ale - more on the malty than the hoppy. The carb seems a tad high which adds to the hoppiness level. The flavor is sharp and spicy but not overbearing. The hop profile is herbal not citrus - a bit sticky, lingers on the finish in the back of the mouth. I love trying single hop beers because the hops character comes through loud and clear when you isolate one hop. I picked this sixer at my local TJs for a mere $7.99.

12 oz bottle poured in a pint glass. The single hop pale ales Hop Odyssey this year just aren't really doing it for me. I enjoyed last year's Hop Odyssey much more. Decent, balanced beer, but just looking for more.

Green Flash is so hit and miss for me, but looking forward to a single-hop beer, especially Nugget. Pretty unusual for a single-hop pale ale though. Expecting to get those bitter woody notes that I usually get with Nugget.
Poured a light amber clear color with two fingers of khaki white froth head. Lots of bubble streams coming up from the bottom of the glass. Below average watery lacing. Decent retention. (Sight - 3.50)
Smelled fairly boozy from a couple of feet away. Getting closer got woody cedar, floral and a lot of fruits - purple grape, pear, peach and light apple. Also a touch of resin. (Smell - 3.75)
Taste was not as good as the nose. Got bitter woody cedar, which pretty much shut out everything else. After a few more sips got unsweetened iced tea, honey, pear and lemon zest. Very dry. (Taste - 3.50)
Light body. Thin-to-oily texture. Average carbonation. Abrupt, woody, bitter finish. (Feel - 3.25)
Maybe I don’t enjoy Nugget as much as I thought. This was very dry, woody and bitter. I think this hop needs some friends. (Overall - 3.50)
