This beer is black, with no head and no lacing.
Strong chocolate aroma, sweet malt
Chocolate/cocoa dominate the taste. Caramel. Vanilla shows up late, and it lingers.
Medium-bodied. Very sweet. Great dessert beer.

I enjoyed this one, inasmuch as it's pretty well a dessert beer. The chocolate and vanilla add quite a bit of sweetness to the porter base, and at 8% it's almost an imperial. This is the kind of beer that would make a good ice cream float.

Gritty, very dark brown, just touching black. Loose, bubbly head. Leaves moderate lacing. Smell is intoxicatingly sweet; first thought was rich chocolate ice cream. Chocolate chips, chocolate pudding. Chocolate, chocolate, chocolate. And very sweet. Taste is surprisingly not as sweet, more semi sweet cocoa and toasty black malts. A dessert porter if there ever was one. Too much to session with, but would make for a lovely nightcap after a big winter feast of stew, crusty bread and taters. Very nice, interesting take on the porter style.
