Without loyal alignment to either a Gose or a Hazy IPA, this “Wild Card” was kettle soured for 19 hours before adding a plethora of late addition hops. It was then dry-hopped with a touch of Mosaic and Cascade hops, and finally rested on tons of tart and tangy tangerines.

Poured from a can into a pint glass. Pours hazy orange with a small white head. Smells of sour fruit, especially citrus. Tastes of sour grain and citrus, very nicely balanced and the sour is not overpowering. Beer is light bodied and easy drinking, good carbonation. Overall, a very good beer.

From Beer Drop. No dating on the can.
Pours a hazy orange gold with a large head of long lasting foam.
The smell is big notes of tangerine and citrus hops. The fruit seems on the bitter as well as tart side.
The taste is exactly like the smell. Bitter and tart tangerine, citrus hops that taste dry hopped, sweet and sour thing going on.
Medium bodied, refreshing, tasty.

I got a can of this beer from my bestie from Charlotte NC whom got it from a beer of the month club pack. It poured a hazy golden with no head and no lace. The scent had tart citrus hop notes. The taste was tart and sour leaning with some balance from the fruit Haze. Beer start like a bright citrus fruit hazy ipa then turns tart and leave the mouth pursed. The mouthfeel was medium in body with good carbonation. Overall it is an interesting beer....im not a Gose fan so my rating will be low relative to those that like Gose and sours....

A: hazy yellow, honestly looks like tang.
S: sour and fruity. No coriander or malty character.
T: tangerine juice with some hop bitterness. More tart than sour. Some salty but no spicy. Not particularly bready or doughy.
M: not highly carbonated. Heavier in body than a gose but not as chewy as a NEIPA.
O: tasty but not in any category making if difficult to judge. Very drinkable but comes across more as a "malt beverage" than a beer.

12 fl oz pull-tab can ("exile by 09/04/20"):
"This beer contains tangerines..." "New England Gose"
"Without loyal alignment to either a Gose or a Hazy IPA, this “Wild Card” was kettle soured for 19 hours before adding a plethora of late addition hops. It was then dry-hopped with a touch of Mosaic and Cascade hops, and finally rested on tons of tart and tangy tangerines."
Served cold into a nonic pint glass.
APPEARANCE: Bright albeit murky yellow-copper body. ~1cm worth of off-white head that dissipates within 3 minutes.
AROMA: Fresh tangerine, citrus pulp, citrus fruit (orange, tangerine), sea salt brine, wheat, pale malt, subtle sourness (~3/10 in terms of sourness intensity).
Suggests a mellow tangerine-driven gose with nice floral and citrusy/fruity hop flavour. Saltiness judging by the aroma seems right on the money.
TASTE: Tangerine forward but not salty enough - nor is there any obvious coriander flavour. More hop-focused than salt/sour focused, which leans it too far towards the turbid IPA end of its hybridity for my taste. Balanced, though, and there is some subtle sourness that could be dialed up to better effect.
TEXTURE: Pulpy and weirdly thick. Unrefreshing as a result. Smooth, wet, well-carbonated.
OVERALL: A weird effort from High Hops. Unsuccessful in its attempt at style hybridity, but I have to applaud them for trying to execute a unique premise instead of just lazily putting out a Johnny-come-lately turbid IPA like many breweries are doing these days.
Not unpleasant to drink, and it's about as enjoyable as a failed experiment can be.
