From a 12 oz can (best by July 4, 2017) into a tulip.
A-The beer has a bit of haze in the golden liquid. It is darker than many IPAS...almost amber in color. The head is just off-white and quite sticky and dense. Retention is merely OK and the foam drops to a thin cap after a minute or so.
S-The aroma is pleasant and sweet for an IPA with lots caramel and toast/bread flavors coming through among the hops. This beer smells moderately bitter with "old school" flavors of mandarin orange, grapefruit, and hints of leaf and pine. Nice to smell something that isn't going for the juice bomb award.
T-The taste is also on the sweet side with caramel and toffee flavors coming through. I pick up just a hint of butter, but not enough to ruin the flavor. Bitterness is moderate and hops are citrus heavy with mandarin orange, pink grapefruit, a bit of pepper spice (especially on the finish), and a mild earthy leafy note.
M-The beer is heavier than average and slightly sticky on the palate. Carbonation is pretty mild.
O-This is the first beer from High Hops for me and I mostly enjoyed it. The creepy dentist can art isn't up my alley, but I would drink this again when in the mood for a solid IIPA.

picked up a bomber at Davidson's in Englewood, CO. Excellent double IPA. Tasted similar to some of my favorite southern California IPAs.
