this unique oktoberfest pours a cloudy orange color with a lovely white head an inch or two high. it fades back to just a white ring around the outside of the glass. the smell is like caramel malts, but also actual caramel. like those little cubes you sometimes get on halloween. its sweet and even a touch salty in that regard. the flavor has than same caramel element to it, as well as a nutty flavor that i attribute to the malts used. the beer is cloudy, which you dont always see in an oktoberfest beer, and i think this yeast sediment adds some depth and compelxity as well as a slightly spicy vibe in the finish. this has a nice feel as well, plenty drinkable but id like to see a tad more carbonation here. overall a nice local take on a fall classic.
