Appearance: hazy; amber/brown; 1 finger off white head that receded to a thin collar; nice lacing;
Smell: caramel malt:
Taste: caramel malt up front; some spice from the rye comes in at mid-palate and stays through the finish; mildly bitter at the finish; bitterness sticks around;
Mouthfeel: medium bodied; moderate carbonation:
Overall: the word pumpkin in the name is throwing me off; no pumpkin or pumpkin spice flavor or aroma; drinks like a rye IPA;

Poured a generous serving from yesterday's growler fill in to a Teku. A nice fluffy finger of white head rests atop an opaque rootbeer brown brew. The aroma is full of rye, sweet and boozy smelling with just a hint of pumpkin meat.
Taste closely follows the nose; rye driven, rye up front, light malt at mid-palate, gentle pumpkin taste at the back of the mouth. Actual roasted pumpkin meat here; not spice, artificial, or otherwise overdone flavoring.
The pumpkin really pushes the mouthfeel to full--creamy, big, and smooth. Think pumpkin pie filling. Body, despite this, is pretty light. Carbonation is appropriately soft, just enough bite. Nice fat fingers of lacing. This one is a winner, something for those of us who don't buy in to the pumpkin beer craze.
