Peter Cotton Ale, a red ale, was brewed with carefully selected caramel malt and five different hops. The result a beautifully balanced, hop-forward ale perfect for spring.

The printing on the bottom of the can is right at the rim so it's difficult to see the date, but it appears to read: "GET SOME" then something and "-05-21" the number before the "-05" appears to be a "09" but it is hard to tell.
Appearance: The body of the beer is very hazy to the point where only very dark, fuzzy, and abstract shadows are visible through it. It has a nice, large, off-tan colored head that has a fluffy surface with large craters and smaller pockmarks. The beer has very good retention and lacing.
Aroma: It has a very floral aroma which is apparent up front. It smells a bit like a mixture of wildflowers and floral soap. It also has a pleasant, lightly toasted smelling, caramel character which is nice.
Taste: The flavor of the beer closely mimics the aroma but it marries the two together in a far more cohesive profile, where both seem to compliment each other over and over again. First there is this floral character that pops in, then very shortly after a mixture of caramel, toffee, and maple join the party. These flavors work to enhance the beer and then the floral character takes over again, shortly followed by a lightly toasted bread note. It's an interesting dance of flavors that is fun to enjoy.
Mouthfeel: The body is soft and medium-bodied with a noticeable bitterness that lingers around for a bit.
Overall: It's an interesting beer that is worth checking out. The light floral character combined with the caramel and toffee flavors was very nice but it felt like the flavors were waiting for the rest of the beer to catch up. It's worth trying or grabbing a single bottle or pint.
