Pours a slightly hazed & effervescent amber with a thumb of eggshell colored head. Above average lacing & average-ish head retention
S: Tropical fruits, cakeyness & pineyness, some green melon & mangoes once warm
T: Plenty of pine, dryness & cakeyness up front, a little grapefruit as well. Dryness, pineyness & cakeyness rule the day as this beer warms up. Getting some guava at the end here in the finish as along with green melon, piney dryness & a touch of caramel
MF: Chewy, low carbonation, skewing a little hoppy
This a monster of an Imperial IPA, skewing very old school, fairly drinkable for the heft

Moderate amount of lacy white head. Translucent, deep, glowing medium orange look. Pineapple, guava and a bit of medium toasted malt aroma. Very heady and concentrated mouthfeel. Malt and mixed tropical fruit and orange peel flavors up front with a lasting, mellow bite.

Rather unassuming aroma: clearly hoppy, but a bit muddled. Candied orange, pineapple, mango, and pine, perhaps.
Really delivers on the palate, with huge, slightly boozy notes of caramel, white bread, sugar, papaya, mango, orange creamsicle, pine, and a light dash of kitchen herbs. Very low dankness - surprising for a beer which ostensibly drew from Captain's Daughter. A bit of banana and clove from the yeast expression.
A touch boozy, but an otherwise very approachable IIIPA. Ten years ago, a Triple IPA this smooth would have been remarkable. It's less rare nowadays, but still impressive.
This is a beer absolutely worthy of Grey Sail's anniversary. Fantastic offering, and I hope they bring it back at some point during the year.
