weird but intriguing, almost addicting after a few pulls, a session hazy ipa, but it drinks with a yeast element, almost half saison to me, intentional or not, its cool, obviously fermented warm, maybe on purpose with an ester producing strain, its weird at first, expecting a cleaner ipa type, but it grew on me quickly, and i liked the white wine and soft floral notes this hits with, definitely compatible with the lemony hops driving it, lemongrassy too, dry, upbeat, gentle feeling but excited, tasty pint beer, brewed exclusively for friar tucks, a happening bar in mystic, ct. really pale yellow color to this, but rather hazy just the same, a creamy inch of white head crowns it and stays there, tons of effervescence to this. aroma and flavor of clean and mellow citrus forward hops, subtle green grape, kiwi fruit, and lemon jello. some light bitterness but its herbal and clean and crisping. the yeast aspect is odd to me, but i dig it, faintly peppery, a light taffy sort of thing too, cool with the hops and not dominant or anything. soft wheaty notes at the core of this, a nice texture, and very fresh to me. a cool recipe, stands out from the crowd. i liked both beers i had from grey sail while i was out east, will need to track down some more on my next trip! this one is delicious, crushable, and attention holding.
