Reviewed from notes. Had on-tap at Mellow Mushroom in Brandon. Served in a snifter glass.
A: Hazy reddish brown, not quite opaque. Forms a one-finger off-white creamy head with low visible carbonation.
S: Rich malts, citrus hops and maybe a touch of roasted spices.
T: Malt forward (toasted bready, brown, and a bit nutty) with a nice lemon/orange citrus and grassy hop bite. Maybe a touch of coriander and/or rye/caraway? But subtle. A near-balanced beer. Mild hop bitterness on the exhale.
M: Body is a bit on the heavy side, good carbonation sensation, and moderate alcohol presence.
O: This is a nice ESB. Nothing to make it head and shoulders above anything in particular, but very drinkable.
