August 13th, 2013 - Lone Tree is a family favorite by now, and their beer continues to improve every year. On this visit I first try the Ariadne's Blonde - beautifully clear and hay colored beer with an aroma characterized by a light citrus aroma, mostly tangerine. The flavor is also light with a solid and satisfying body. The complex yeast notes yield pear and light berries, which fit impeccably with the palate. It is a fantastic start to an evening at Lone Tree, and a strong sign of Lone Tree's progress since I've last visited.

On tap at the brewery on a cool Fall evening.
A: Pale gold, with good clarity. A fluffy eggshell cap has OK staying power and leaves behind good lace.
S: The nose is fairly light. Pale fruits dominate, with just a touch of floral hops, plus a little Belgian yeast funk.
T: Light and refreshing, with just enough depth to keep me interested. Sweet malts are out front, followed by a mild, yet well balanced floral bitterness. The beer finishes with a light lingering bitterness.
M: The medium body is dry and has the right level of fizz.
O: This is a nice beer that seems aimed at the less adventurous drinker. It's a good first step beer for those new to the craft beer scene.
