Interesting. This beer has a nice dark soda color. The head is about one finger, cream colored, and dissipates quickly. The nose was interesting and not what you would expect. I got a lot of chocolate, herbs and licorice. The taste somewhat follows the nose. You get spiciness at the start that is like corriander. The taste is not as sweet as the aroma. The feel is a medium body, average carbonation.

low carbonation, low malt, easy drinking dark beer with a sweet saison flavor at the end.

I don't know how this beer ended being so tannic. Tasted more like a black ipa than a black saison. It has an unusual bitterness that isn't hoppy, but just odd tasting. I don't leave reviews for good beers since I equate it with making the beer harder to find for myself, but leaving a review for a bad beer will hopefully make someone else not make the mistake of trying this.

22 oz. Dark cola brown pour, not a ton of carbonation present. Just a thin layer of cream colored head.
Aroma, A little unusual for the style, suprising amount of chocolate and molasses. Some licorice and herbal notes. Maybe some peppercorn.
Taste, A little more yeast, more peppercorn. Not as sweet as the aroma, more of a dark chocolate and roasted malt. Some licorice.
About medium body, enough carbonation but could use more. Dry enough. Drinks pretty well, would be better with more carb and a little less sweetness.
Not as nice as Pepe Nero for a dark saison to me, but still pretty good and worth trying if you like the style.
