Pours a ruby-orange hue with a layer of frost that keeps it from being crystal clear. Head foams up khaki and buttery in color, and just shy of 2 fingers in height. Great pillowy head retention with good lacing left behind. Aroma is strong and powerful, with notes of floral, herbal, and spruce hops. A tiny zing of lemon zest melds with biscuit malts in an otherwise hops-only aroma. Flavor profile is heavy, with notes of herbal, floral, and resin hops. It really gives it an outdoorsy quality. With a light layer of lemon zest in the back, the only malt note - biscuit - is obscured through a heavy dosage of hops. Mouth feel is big, filling, with a tiny bit of fizziness on the tongue. This beer really packs a punch. Overall, an IPA dominated by hops in such a way that this one could be pretty polarizing. For those seeking a heavily hopped, herbal/floral, bitter IPA - this is the one. Its nearly double digit ABV (9.7%) is carried well by the big flavor presence asserted throughout the drinking experience.
