part of their robbers cave series i am fairly sure. we have seen this kind of thing before, the spiced blonde ale, the chai infusion into some mediocre quality craft brew of any kind. i was hesitant to try this because its almost always way out of whack but this one is awesome. looks like nothing more than a frothy blonde ale, but the chai blended in adds aromas and flavors as complex as i could have imagined, from chili pepper to cocoa powder to cardamom, black tea, black pepper, cinnamon, and even something like caraway, its really got a lot going on, but the blend of the flavors within the chai is just right, and more importantly, the blend into the beer is just right, not too much, i still taste the blonde ale in here, and it still feels like a beer too, not spicy, sweet, chalky, or burnt out from the chai, and it stays dry and easy drinking even with all the flavor. beers like this are really hard to do, and i have never had one quite like this. they should be proud of this one, its a really solid example of something quite hard to do this well. mad props.
