not a style of beer that usually gets me off, especially the american made ones, but this is really good, maybe the best i have had from the united states. it looks like all the others, crystal clear blonde with a half inch of white head on it in a pilsener glass. it smells and tastes very floral, almost like jasmine or something similar, really bright and summery. the malt is clean and simple, german in nature of course, but fuller bodied and not so dusty as the imports. its well hopped too, more so than usual, but not real bitter, maybe a dry hopping with old world varietals, not sure, but it works really well. despite the bigger body, its really clean, and the only residual flavor at all is that of the yeast, which is loosely european but seems new to me, at least in this context it is. that floral element really distinguishes this beer, and its one of the few blonde ale types i could drink all day and not get tired of. on tap at the farmhouse in burlington, one of my favorite spots to explore delicious vermont beers. beautiful for a dry mouth on a hot day.

On tap at the brewpub.
A-Pours a murky, yet glowing yellow color. Well formed, white head is large, even in the sample glass.
S-Well hopped for the style. Grassy hops work with light spice and grains. Noticeable yeasty aroma as well. Crackery.
T-The hops remain grassy but fall back in with the rest of the beer's components. Zesty yeast, grains and pastry/cracker malt.
M-Light bodied. Easy to drink. Would be able to polish off a few glasses of this easily. High carbonation.
O-I have begun to enjoy this style more and I have seen more breweries experimenting with the Kolsch. This was a sample that went away quickly but I do remember enjoying it.
