Fiddlehead Brewing Company

A huge place with indoor and outdoor spaces, with about 10 beers on tap and a pizza place on the housing selling pizza by the slice. Well worth it if you find yourself in Burlington.

 

 

 

Fiddlehead's tap room, with an attached but independently operated pizza restaurant. This used to be the only place you could get Fiddlehead IPA to go, and only in growlers, and it hasn't changed much since they started canning it - the addition of one large cooler seems to be the only nod to the availability of cans. That was back in 2022, so there may be more can availability now. But these days you can pick up cans of Fiddlehead IPA almost anywhere on the region.

Went specifically to the brewery for what I thought would be fresh beer. Totally my mistake, I did not look at the dates in the cans because my brain figured I was at the brewery so the beer would be fresh. WRONG! They sold me cans that were two months old! And for IPAs this affects taste and quality big time. Very sad! Brew less and manage better.

 

Just 6 beers and a cider on tap but the beers are mostly well above average and they also have one coffee on tap. Relaxed atmosphere. A wood-fired pizza restaurant is attached and you may drink and eat in either location
Beers to go but they require the use of a returnable Fiddlehead growler for growler filks.

 

 

 

 

Visited twice in 2014 and 2019. A small little brewery producing some amazing beer. It is crazy how much they have grown. For my first visit had three on tap when I was there, a Dunkelweisse, an IPA and an all brett apa. All three were really well made and they had free samples. For the first visit they only were doing growlers but by the second one they had cans as well. I also love how you can buy beer from here and drink it in the pizza place next door. This is probably my favourite brewery in Vermont.

Visited with my wife in the fall of 2019. The vibe was ok, not much more then a tasting room. Service was average. They are not pet Friendly. Their selection was excellent. Had excellent beers on tap you can't get outside the brewery.

 

The choice spot for some drinks before the Tubledown Festival at the waterfront in Burlington, VT. The band Twiddle has a beer brewed with one of it's lyrics "relax and dream" a wonderful pale ale Fiddlehead created for them and the fans.
There's lots to love about this open space, picnic table style beer hall area. Selection is numerous with top quality selection possibilities. The vibe overall is good but the direct service from behind the counter was blah at best, snooty and uppity at worst. But that didn't affect our time there!! Love the brews and the support of my boys Twiddle!

Stopped at end of Vermont Beer Safari. Large building ... Half Fiddlehead and half Pizzeria. FH side had large space with plenty of bar and table space. Large retail area as well. Good beer selection; beers to go. Pizza ordered by tablet and then delivered from the pizzeria. Tasty pizza to go with tasty beers. I had a prochiutto Parma pizza to go with a Second Fiddle. Yum!
Very friendly staff, and had a great time speaking with Tasting room /Events Mgr, Brad. Definitely a mire than worthwhile stop.

 

Small room off a pizza shop. The most I've seen on at one time in the few times I've been is 3 beers. Looking forward to expansion, but I've also been turned off by their beers recently. Hodad used to be one of my favorites, now it's a thin, barley coconuty mess

 

 

This is a review from when I visited years ago, but somehow missed putting in a review. smallish taproom, adjacent to a pizza place. they were selling swag and to-go beer, but you could try the beer and get growlers. At the time they only had 3 beers available - the flagship IPA, a Hef, and a Blonde Ale.

 

Absolutely gorgeous place in Shelbourne. You feel like home there. Food is extraordinary, staff is friendly and all the beers are top notch! No better place to go around Burlington VT.

I am used to taprooms where you can drink so this is a bit odd. You can have free samples of their beers but your beer and swag and get out. If they do not serve food you can’t just get a pint. They were renovating their tasting room while I was there so the space was very small. They only had I think three beers to taste and 4 beers in cans to purchase. The beers were excellent though and the service was fantastic. The pizza place next door you could buy your beer and drink it there with your food. The pizza place was excellent.

 

 

 

Has great taist. So good it’s almost a Session IPA. unfortunately it’s a little too high to be a session.

Visited the brewpub in September of 2017. Small place outside of Burlington. They had 1 beer on-tap (bring a growler, or 'rent' one... which you can return for a deposit... or just keep to take home) and 3 other brews available canned. Very cool staff.... and a nice gift shop. The best part is... it's located next to an amazing pizzeria (opens right into it) where you can grab your beer and go order some amazing pies. Really cool vibe... great food... outstanding beer.. all around A++ experience. Next time I'm in Vermont I'll definitely be going back.
