Poured from a tallboy can into a Dogfish Head tulip
L: Hazy light golden pour. 2 fingers of foamy white head. Outstanding lacing.
S: Citrus and grapefruit.. light grains... classic New England IPA.
T/F: Follows the nose... light malts/grains. Great citrus hop profile... fruity, with grapefruit, orange rind, and tropicals. Somewhat grassy.. herbal and hop bitterness. Light on the pine... smooth and drinkable. Dangerously so... bitterness is present but blunted. Good carbonation. Finish is all citrus and fruit.
O: An amazing New England DIPA. Dank, citrusy, crushable, and wonderful. Love this beer.

Growlette to tulip, the appearance was a semi-murky golden copper color with a sustaining finger's worth of white foamy head that fell off at a slow pace. Little valleys of lace within the top of the beer sat nicely.
The aroma had a nice blend of floral to pine to earthy and citrusy zesty portions flowing into each other in a wonderful commotion.
The flavor was moderately sweet running through the floral and pine a bit more forward than the earth and citrusy zest, but still they hold a sturdy grasp coming in for the blend. Not much of an aftertaste, moreso just some floral and pine.
The mouthfeel was medium bodied with a good carbonation that felt fine. ABV felt appropriate. The finish was calm and distinct with a little bit of earth and pine, slight tart.
Overall, pretty nice imperial IPA that I'm glad is just a hop, a skip and a jump right down Route 7 for me to grab more of this.

Poured from a growler filled at the brewery.
Pours a hazy, golden orange color with a finger of creamy off-white head. The head has excellent retention, hanging around for days before settling into a foamy blanket that rests gently atop the beer. Leaves some splotches of lace along the way.
The aroma brings notes of grapefruit, lemon zest, oranges, and a touch of pine, with a sweet and doughy malt backbone. Very floral and earthy throughout.
The flavor has strong notes of oranges and tangerines, as well as grapefruit and lemon. Has a nice, sweet graham cracker malt character, before finishing with an acidic, bitter pine note. Very well balanced.
The mouthfeel is absolutely perfect for the style. Medium-bodied with moderate carbonation. Fluffy, creamy, and dangerously smooth. Slightly dry finish with absolutely no alcohol presence whatsoever. The resinous pine coats the mouth in a sheet of bitterness and is pulled away as soon as it gets there, leaving you wanting more.
Overall, an absolutely fantastic DIPA that is hoppy as hell, yet exceptionally well balanced with an incredibly smooth mouthfeel. While it may not quite reach the levels of Second Fiddle, it's definitely right up there. Hopefully Fiddlehead will decide to can this one someday.
