On cask, it is a nice rich brown with a silky smooth off white head. The aroma is pretty straightforward, lots of biscuity malts accented by some spicy English hops and fruity yeast esters. The taste really opens up. The biscuit malt gains depth from a roastiness. The spicy hops are rounded out with some added vegetal balance and the yeast throws out some very complimentary fruitiness including a nice melon/bubblegum flavor. I would attribute the taste being better than the smell to the serving on cask, the relative warmth really brought the flavors out. The mouthfeel was superb, one of the best beers I have ever had in this department. Overall, this is definitely worth a try if you like the style, it had flavor, balance and nuance and was extremely drinkable.
