Robust Porter with Coffee
Easily described as a COFFEE beer rather than a beer with coffee. This robust porter is aged on freshly roasted, freshly ground, organic Groundwork® coffee which enhances the flavors of chocolate, roasted malt, and of course coffee, already present in the beer.

A woodsy coffee porter. Hops have a sage-like aroma and flavor- wood and musky herbs. Coffee, chocolate, brown sugar. Slight lingering mint/menthol. Little to no fruit. Pretty good.

7/12/25 - (The Silver Stamp) (Las Vegas, Nevada) Bar Notes: $8.40 16oz draft pour, 6.0% ABV.
Appearance: 16 oz draft in a shaker pint yields a dark brown base creamy tan head and lacing. Nice pour. 4.25
Aroma: Strong dark roast coffee backed by light caramel. Very nice. 4.5
Taste: Consistent with the aroma, excellent dark roast coffee, light hints of caramel and bakers chocolate. 4.5
Mouthfeel: Creamy medium plus body, negligible carbonation, malt and hops yield a nice balance, though dark roast coffee curbstomps everything in its path. 4.25
Overall: This is a decade pint after dinner dark roast coffee treat. No barrel required. Kicking myself for missing Smog City last visit to southern LA County. I won’t make that mistake again. 4.25

This beer is the most like a cup of quality black coffee of any beer that I have had. It is of course best served cold, but if someone gave it to me on ice I would not know that it was a beer.

it’s very different. the coffee qualities are too strong. it’s kind of lacking as a beer. it did grow on me though.

On tap at Out of the Barrel
A: Pours basically black with a frothy khaki head that settles to a light layer and laces nicely.
S: Fresh ground coffee, roast, char, a touch of smoke, hint of chocolate, earthy, faintly herbal, and a little burnt sugar.
T: Roasty, char, espresso, a touch of smoke, dark chocolate, earthy, slight spicy herbal notes, a hint of vanilla, toasty bready malt, and a little burnt sugar.
M: Medium body, moderate carbonation.
O: Heard a lot of good things about this one and finally had the perfect chance to try it out. When they say coffee porter they mean COFFEE porter. Super intense in the best way. Would love to see a variant with some chocolate or vanilla to build off a fantastic base beer.

Canned 02/02/22 Coffee Porter is dark and pours like Coca-Cola. Big head, dark and rich, the coffee is strong and damn tasty. Mouthfeel is a little creamy and it goes down easy. Maybe a hint of bitter chocolate in there. Overall a nice Porter. Thanks for sharing Raul Mondesi
