Smog City Brewing Co.

 

Industrial warehouse space with a bar adjacent to the garage. Beyond the bar, and prior to reaching the brewing equipment are a handful of tables. A standing bar along the wall offers more interior space, with a spacious patio out front. Space for a food truck or two between the drive lane and patio.

Selection is great, offering up a wide array of styles. With a variety of serving sizes, patrons can try quite a bit or focus on one or two beers. Service is fine. It's quick at least, but LA cold otherwise.

 

Visited with my wife on a recent trip to San Diego and Los Angeles.

Smog City Brix Layer (flight sample)
Smog City IPA (flight sample)
Smog City Saison De Miel (flight sample)

Beers ranged from good to excellent. My wife also enjoyed her flight. Service at the bar was fine as it didn’t take long to order drinks. Awesome patio here with a nice neighbourhood vibe inside the taproom. Prices were fair; plenty of parking out front. Our overall experience was stellar, and we would likely come back.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Been visiting this place since 2015 in which their beers had been consistent and never upsets me! They do tend to get a lot variety in which some of their beers are seasonal such as: Snuggle bug; Cuddle bug; at times due to harvesting Kumquat Saison. They have expanded their tasting room by adding an out door patio in which they do have a lunch truck right next to it. The staff are friendly; helpful; and have pretty good knowledge of the beer. Personal favorite: Coffee Porter

 

I don't think anyone in LA has made more consistently outstanding beer over the last 5 years. I love what these guys do and I always look forward to drinking SC beer. The tasting room is little more than a counter in a brewery but it's got a fun vibe and the folks that run the place are awesome.

 

Busy on a Sunday night, with the hipster/chill vibe overall. Large selection on tap and many to take some. Bartenders were knowledgeable and happy to explain each beer when asked.

Great place. Busy friendly and excellent diverse selection of their beers. Had many flights/shared with my son. Loved beers and people. Nice stuff too. Great T-shirt.

 

While the actual entrance to this place was initially a pain in the ass to find, once in I had a great experience. Friendly staff, very laid back, and a great varying selection of beers that were honestly all great. Everyone that goes to Torrance hits Monkish, but take the 5 minute walk down the block and experience Smog City too! Great sours, BA beers, and balanced IPAs. Nice to be able to visit Smog City and Monkish so close together.

This place impressed me beer wise. That Bourbon OE is something else. Awesome. Their IPAs were pretty damn good too. All the beers were actually.

A flight was reasonably priced too.

The space is airy as is expected from a massive warehouse and there's a mellow vibe.

Smog City is in an industrial area of Torrance, there is a small shared parking lot, as well as ample parking on the street. The tasting room wraps around the brewing operations. There's always a healthy array of selections and service is pretty chill and fast. While there is usually fair number of people, the vibe is pretty mellow and fun.
