On tap @ the source. First offering in the Forager Series. This is based on a 80 shilling Scottish Ale with hand-picked fennel flowers added.
A: Pours black with a half-inch thick creamy eggshell white head with leaves spotty lace.
N: Fennel (licorice) and floral, some faint earthy notes.
T: Delicate, malty with slight roast and faint smoke and even more faint licorice and caramel. Sassafrass rootbeer notes.
M: Moderate body and medium carbonation. Slightly dry and malty finish.
O: Very nice balance and quite interesting. Easy drinking. Dark looking but light flavor. Licorice aroma but faint flavor.
