You See Them Saisons? from Bare Hands Brewing. Received from @ovaltine in a NBS BIF #15 ninja strike. Stored at 40 degrees after receiving. Reviewed 06/06/22. Note that I use DD/MM/YY protocol.
Undated can. Served at 49.6 degrees in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter. Final temperature 52.8 degrees.
Appearance – 3.75
First pour – Pale Gold (SRM 4), clear.
Body – Gold (SRM 5), chill haze. When rear-lite, same.
Head – Ridiculous (Maximum 6.5 cm plus what overflowed, aggressive center pour), floral white, low density, average retention, diminishing to an irregular 0.4 to 1.1 cm crown and a partial heaped, rocky cap.
Lacing – None per se, but a few islands hang onto the sides of the glass.
Aroma – 3.75 – Floral hops and a hint of yeast. No malt.
Flavor – 4 – Yeasty and a bit bitter with some citrus fruitiness. No malt. No ethanol (9 % ABV as marked on label) taste or aroma. Mild gastric warming occurs. No dimethylsulfide or diacetyl. Ends dry with some spice on the aftertaste.
Palate – 3.5 – Medium, watery, lively carbonation.
Final impression and summation: 3.5 (After deducting 0.25 point for an undated personal container) Not a bad take on a saison. Flavors were muted as was the nose. Very drinkable which is scary at 9% ABV. Thanks, Mike, for this local!

Pours a beautiful orange color with the haze I associate with a saison and a sudsy off white head that actually provides some lacing, which surprised me a bit coming from this imperial saison.

The nose has a bit of citrus, a lot of estery notes, and a significant booze component. This may be listed as an imperial saison, but it reminds me more of a tripel.

The taste features a bit of tangerine, especially as the beer warms, but I get more of the estery flavor and a significant warming from the alcohol. I just wish there was ….. more from this, because while it’s fairly tasty, it’s a bit one note.

The mouthfeel is very full and drying. This was a fun beer to drink, and an adventurous take on a style you don’t see often from my local.

Thanks to Ovaltine for this one, as part of some NBS BIF #15 shenanigans. 16oz can (no date) poured into 14oz teku, Poured a medium-dark orange color with almost two inches of just off-white head that had good retention and extremely light lacing.

The aroma had a solid grain base, with a bit of fruit and spice from the yeast. A bit of floral and fruit hops showed through as well.

Pretty similar on the tongue, with the yeast providing a fair bit of yeasty spiciness, and the fruit being a bit more subdued.

The body was medium, leaning a bit towards full, had great carb, and a medium-dry finish.

Drinkability was good, you could easily knock back a couple of these.

Overall, a really nice brew. Certainly worth a shot if you see it.

Drank blind...courtesty of @ovaltine BIF 15...

Pours a slightly opaque, verging close to clear, bronze color. The head formed quite quickly, remains in he form of a nice see through layer of white with some bigger bubbles mixed in a sheet of white. Swirling the glass leads to some nice lacing.

So the nose sort of supports my initial guess but also there is something slightly acidic going on like verging on saison like territory, there is even some super low level of funk to me. I also however do still get some hoppiness. There is also an almost white grape/white wine like smell to it, I also pick up on some orangey citrus. This beer is throwing me for a loop which I like so aroma.

Well OK!! My hop theory just went out the window. But…there is definitely a noticeable grassy like taste in the finish. But it is mostly ester yeast driven flavors. Little bit of spice and a slightly sweet touch paired with that spice. Also I’m editing to add a brown sugar like taste as well. Comes out as it warms.

Mouthfeel, soft yet pretty noticeable carbonation, grassy low bitterness, warming alcohol in the chest and a lingering after taste.
