From a 473ml nitro-can poured into a pint glass. After the nitro dissipates the head is a big one finger very fine light cream head on a clear dark copper. Excellent head retention. It sticks around to the end. A sheet of fine lacing creeps down the glass.
A light malt smell. The taste is of toasted malts. Some diacetyl. A bit earthy. Finishes dry.
A medium body and light carbonation. Overall a solid ESB. True to the style and worth a try.

Pours clear brass with an off white, persistent head. The aroma is of caramel, biscuity malts, fresh mown grass and lemon. The taste is malt forward with a toasty, nutty character. Light leafy hops in there too. The mouthfeel is full bodied with languid carbonation. Light bitterness and lingering fruity yeast esters in the finish.
A nice example of a style you see less and less these days.

The nitro in the can didn’t work. Beer poured largely flat and headless which is no a big deal for a bitter IMO. However, the distinctly harsh bitterness and dry malt-less-ness is unacceptable. This is an unpleasant pint that I did not finish and is so far afield from something like Fuller’s that it is difficult to understand how this beer was released. Drain pour.
