Belgian-style blond ale with a balanced but hop forward aroma profile. Tropical fruit, melon and citrus zest on the nose. Crafted with Wai-iti hops, pilsner and wheat malt, and a hint of citrus, this hoppy number moves to its own rhythm.

A: The beer is hazy yellow in color. It poured with a finger high head that left lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Slight aromas of Belgian yeast are present in the nose.
T: The taste has light to moderate flavors of Belgian yeast.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer isn't as spicy compared to some other Belgian IPAs.

This is a great Belgian pale ale. Hops take center stage with herbal spicy tropics and a dry, but not biting, bitterness. And there's still an underlying doughy malt character. Very well balanced. I especially appreciate that the finish isn't too dry and the yeast isn't too loud.

12oz bottle from a 4-pack. My first Boom Island beer

Great looking beer, golden with a bone white head, decent retention and lacing, fine particles throughout. Smells like hops and Belgian yeast. Taste is clean and crisp, with mostly hop notes coming through.

Very bitter and grassy, and extremely enjoyable to drink

L: streams of rapidly rising rising bubbles permeate the brilliant polished brass beer under a 3" thick cream colored column of stiff, rocky foam that billows up over the lip of the glass and looks dense enough to support a pencil.

S: An earthy, woody set of aromas mingle with floral, white pepper, light biscuit, fruit, over ripe fruit, banana and bubble gum.

T: Belgian yeast flavors follow the aromas and spread across the palate meet an assertive bitter in the middle and lead to a bone dry finish with lingering bitterness. The fruit flavors are medium and the bitterness is medium to medium high.

F: This medium to medium light bodied beer is airy and mousse-like on the tongue with a bit of prickle. The carbonation is high.

O: This beer is a perfect companion to a warm sunny afternoon while sharing your Django Reinhardt collection with your neighbors.

12oz bottle. Poured out a slightly cloudy, golden orange color with a small, white head of foam. It smelled somewhat fruity and yeasty with toasted caramel. Spicy and yeasty with sweet caramel and some fruity flavors, too.

this is a cool beer, sort of like a hoppy belgian golden or single, but i wouldnt quite get it up into the ipa range, the hops are too delicate and soft for that, the yeast is out in front of them pretty significantly, although the beer is excellent and balanced in its own way, and the flavors presented are quite unique. these hops are unfamiliar to me, definitely on the softer side, but its not tropical fruit or citrus, its like rind and berry almost, gooseberry or something a little sweet and piquant at the same time, a white currant maybe, its odd but its cool in this beer, especially with the very light malt base so it can be tasted pretty cleanly. the yeast though i think is a little robust for the more mild hops, it maybe was fermented a tad on the warm side, or maybe its the strain itself, it adds some spicy notes that cover the hops more and more as it moves along. there isnt much bitterness though, and its super well carbonated and clean in the finish, a very drinkable belgian beer. of all the breweries i have visited and beer i have consumed in minnesota, i would put these guys and their portfolio very near the top of the heap! so original and high quality.

Complex, hoppy aroma, with citrus, tropical and earthy hop notes, as well as strong yeast notes of musty farmhouse, banana, clove and pepper. Taste pretty much mirrors the aroma. Moderately high carbonation with a very dry finish. I would consider this more of a hoppy Saison vs. a hoppy Belgian Blonde due to the funky yeast notes. Pretty impressive overall.
