i dont know if this is actually gluten free or if the sorghum is just added as an extra grain for flavor, but i would suspect its not gluten free, if it is, it might be the best gluten free beer ever made. its a little darker than most tripel types, the molasses obviously having stained this one a shade of brown, but the head is tall and lively, and it looks and smells belgian alright. fruity esters in the yeast are awesome with the sweet molasses, which is raw and burnt to me here at the same time, intriguing in a belgian beer and a nice substitute for the more conventional candy sugar. its autumnal to me too, nice this time of year, and it translates well to the flavor. notes of raisin and apple in here, also greener pear and apple candy, with the molasses giving some depth and the malt base staying light for a beer this strong. not sure about the sorghum, i dont really know what i am looking for from it, but this doesnt seem weird or unique on the grain side really at all, at least to me. smooth feel, lot of bubbles and a nice bit of body to it, long finishing but not very sweet, and with a great depth of flavors from the belgian yeast and the molasses alike, a nicely executed good idea! even though i have had some less than stellar beers from these guys, i still get really excited to try new ones from them. this was clever and tasty!
