Had on tap. Mostly clear bright golden body, white cap that settles into a ring. Estery belgian yeast stars in all aspects. In the nose it is joined by fresh white loaf, lemon zest and a touch of phenols. Taste leans more black pepper instead of phenols, baguette instead of white loaf, and floral tones join the lemon accents. Feel is bright and light, decently quenching but the bite is very gentle

At the brewery, served in a tulip. Looks fine — clear honey gold — though no head. Nose promises some hard to distinguish spice and fruity esters, and some unobtrusive and kind of wet bready malt. Taste has all the elements of the nose, but it is really muddled, and then there is something off — it lacks any kind of sweetness: not interesting bitterness, not bad spice, idk what has gone wrong here, but it’s making me wish it was more unobtrusive.

I remember the early days of this brewery in the original location fondly, and they’re still brewing many of the same staples, but I was a bit disappointed this time, and this particular beer is not one I’ll revisit.

Clear, light orange, with some gold highlights. Sweet, medium caramelized malt & allspice/mace aroma. Light spiced malt flavor with a little bite.
