Reddish amber with a big head and minimal lacing down the glass. Smells primarily of citrusy hops, nothing complex. Taste is incredibly booze-y, bready, and has a hoppy aftertaste. No hint of Belgian yeast. Mouthfeel is fairly carbonated and medium bodied, decently refreshing with a dry finish. Disappointing through and through.

Very good attempt at a challenging (and often mis-guided) style. The hops reinforce the rest of the flavor profile, rather than overpowering it. Refreshing yet complex and highly drinkable.

I'm afraid this is the 2nd bottle that I bought that maybe shouldn't have been on the shelf, although not as bad as the dubbel.
This one holds a milder vinous quality that still dominates the aroma, but it also holds some better aspects too. A soft hop quality but he huge head prevents much of the aroma from showing forth. It also seems a little dark for style at a clear amber.
The flavor is a pleasant enough mix of a clean and relatively simple malt flavor and mild hop flavor and a streak of bitterness that never overpowers.
I still would like a fresh sample and maybe I should hit the brewpub to make that happen.
