Orange/Amber color. Smell is peppery, fruity and floraly, slightly boogie. Taste-love the bitter rye, which lingers on the palate; citrus, vanilla sugar. Nice carbonation and a slightly dry finish. I hope they bring this back more often.

Type: 22-oz. bottle
Glass: Lagunitas mason jar

Price: N/A
Purchased: N/A; Received July 27, 2015
Consumed: Aug. 7, 2015
Misc.: Bottled on April 1, 2015
Thanks Chad!
Poured a caramel, amber, clear color with 3-to-4 fingers of khaki white, rocky head. Lots of bubbles coming up from the bottom, reminding me somewhat of a snow globe. Uneven, foamy lacing on the sides of the glass. Great retention. (Sight - 4.00)
Smelled a pleasant whiff up front, getting floral, orange blossom, Citra, sweetened iced tea, crisp rye, some tropical and light milky malts. (Smell - 4.00)
Taste follows the nose, although not quite as good. Got floral, orange zest, orange blossom, Citra, bitter tropical rind, boozy rye, sweetened iced tea and orange soda. (Taste - 3.75)
Medium body. Creamy-to-oily texture. Average-to-lively carbonation. Bitter finish. (Feel - 3.50)
This really started out well with the look and smell, but the taste was just too raw, bitter and boozy. (Overall - 3.75)

Pours a murky dark orange-brown with a foamy khaki head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of citrus fruit, citrus zest, and grapefruit juice aromas. Taste is much the same with citrus fruit, citrus juice, citrus zest, and slight rye flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer that is tasty and easy to drink, but I am not getting much rye in either the smell or taste.
