Track 7 has struck gold, GG is very easy drinking, and has wave after wave of tropical goodness. I'm a bit partial as I have a strawberry guava tree in my back yard, and have used them fresh picked, sliced and used as a topper in IPA's. I have tried ESB's version, they did a good job, but not even close to GG. It's now my go to pale, need to stock up on next release, it's a seasonal rotation, and It's only available in select locations in SoCal.

Canned 5/21/18, consumed 6/9/18

L: Mostly clear amber with a nice thick head that left a good amount of lacing.

S: Guava guava guava, maybe a little bit of peel, pretty bright and very nice.

T: Guava-dominant, but other tropical fruit notes as well, some green & earty hops, and a little bit of citrus.

F: Medium, good carbonation, solid bitterness.

O: Pretty nice single-fruit centered IPA. No mistaking the guava, which is what you want from the name and description. Recommended tryout for sure.

I know that I talk about J-Lo a lot. But for real, J-Lo after a fresh guava lotion sesh this one smells. Think of any goddess lathering herself in guava lotion... This drink smells that good! Taste is very guava forward too, but I am missing balance. Like George Bush doing a math equation, it’s just a lil imbalanced.

Not bad. But a good work in progress.

*The more Raul sips, the more Raul thinks legit. It has smoothed out and Raul is into it.

No can date, but I know this to have been canned very recently

Appearance - Pours crystal clear and a beautiful pure golden hue, with an off-white, finger width head.Sub-par retention,
resulting in a thin, broken layer of surface suds and a fair ring around the edge of the glass.

Smell - Heavy guava aroma. A hint of citrus. Faint crackery malts.

Taste - Follows the nose. Guava-centric flavor with mild citrus bitterness rounding it out, along with some bready sweetness and a hint of leaf and earth by mid-taste. Finishes a tad more bitter than sweet, with a bit of stonefruit pit nuttiness lingering in the aftertaste.

Mouthfeel - Medium-bodied with moderate carbonation. Slick texture with a semi-dry finish.

Overall - The tasting notes on the side of the can read Guava, Guava and More Guava. They got that right. A fairly straight-forward and to the point brew. I thought it was going to be more sweet, but thankfully it's actually a darn well balanced brew. Not really my cup o' tea, but well done Track 7!

Thanks, Chad!

Was lucky enough to receive one of these bad boys and a bunch of others from Chad. Started with this one just because I’ve generally liked stuff from Track Seven and a India Pale Ale with Guava sounds mighty good. Tasting notes on the can read: Guava, Guava and More Guava. Looking forward to this one.

Poured a light amber clear color with two fingers of fizzy off-white head. A few bubbles coming from the bottom of the glass. Bad watery lacing. Poor retention. (Sight - 2.75)

Smelled an awesome whiff of guava up front. Wow. Also got some floral, papaya (probably still guava) and mixed berries, kind of reminding me of a mixed berry tea I have when I have some throat and cold issues. (Smell - 4.50)

Taste followed the nose, but not as potent. Got guava, floral, papaya, passion fruit, mixed berries, sweetened tea, honey, herbal, green leaves, nectarine, peach, apricot and orange zest. Probably some Citra hops, but not the guava really mutes the hops. (Taste - 4.25)

Light body. Oily-to-thin texture. Average carbonation. Long, flowery finish. (Feel - 3.75)

This was a very good IPA. Not sure I could pound a whole bunch, but definitely unique. (Overall - 4.00)

Poured into tulip from tall boy, nice monster 2 finger cream colored soapy head, recedes after a minute and leaves good lacing. Clear dark golden in the glass. Even with a bad nose I am getting the guava off of this, reminds me of guava paste that I use when making pastries, just smelling it makes me thing I am in for an overly sweet beer. Not much else can get past the guava smell, not bad, just stating. Taste is initially biscuit, a little sweetness on the front, that flows into the taste of guava, just like the paste (never had it fresh). The beer finishes with a mild bitterness on the end. I cannot pick out the citra and cascade in here, there might be a slight citrus twang to the guava, and the bitterness is somewhat grapefruit peel. Nice mouthfeel, nice beer. I love it when my daughter travels and brings me home some local beers. If you have this beer in your fridge, let it warm a little, it can be bracing on the first few sips. As it warms up the grapefruit peeks thru more.
