Thanks, Chad!

Thanks to Chad on this one, along with four or five others on a recent work trip to Reno. Had reviewed four Track Seven beers before with the last one, a Golden Guava IPA from Chad, clearly the best. Looks like this is mainly or completely Amarillo, which I usually associate with the orange family and some spice. Actually looked at the back of the can and it read: Little Mosaic, More Simcoe, Loads of Amarillo. Really looking forward to it.

Poured a pale clear color with three fingers of rocky white head. Light bubbles coming up from the bottom underneath. Excellent spiderweb foamy lacing. Excellent retention. (Sight - 4.25)

Smelled a plethora of different aromas on the nose. Wow, this smelled good. Lots of sugar. Got passion fruit, guava, peach, nectarine, tangerine, mango, pineapple, red grapefruit, lemon and lime. For hops got Amarillo first, with some Mosaic, Simcoe and Citra (even though the can doesn’t say Citra). (Smell - 4.50)

Taste wasn’t quite as good, but still delicious. No hiding that 8 pct. ABV for the boozy Amarillo. Also got sugary citrus, mango, passion fruit, stone fruit, grapefruit, guava, lemon, lime, tangerine, orange, spicy Simcoe and hints of Mosaic. (Taste - 4.00)

Medium body. Oily texture. Lively carbonation. Bitter citrusy finish. (Feel - 4.00)

This was really good, but could not stand up to that terrific smell. A bit boozy and bitter after. (Overall - 4.00)

Can dated 04/12/17 into a tulip.

L: Pours slightly hazy bright bronze with 1+ finger of variable density white head that dissipates quickly and left spotted lacing.
S: Nose is nice, tropical and dank, but a bit mute.
T: Taste is tropical forward, some citrus, and unfortunately I'm getting a bit of onion at the tail end. Finishes with moderate bitterness which lingers a bit.
F: Slick, light bodied for a DIPA, lower carbonation.
O: Had high hopes for the beer, which were met by everything but the taste. The oniony aspect on the tail end of each swallow was a but of a bummer. Will see how it fares with a few weeks of age on it.
