Poured from a can into a tulip.
Pours a nearly-murky brownish purple with a great foamy head and decent lacing.
Aromas of grape, blackberry, currant, mulberry, and raspberry all arrive, with hints of hops.
The brew is billed as an IPA--this isn't quite that, but it's interesting nonetheless, although the flavors are muddled. Fruity sweet grape and berry flavor hit the tip of the tongue. The mid-palate is greeted with some interesting dry and sour fruit notes that remind me of a Berliner Weisse. The finish, though, provides a touch of vague bitterness.
The brew has a nice feel. Medium-light with outstanding carbonation and a nice drying finish.
Is it really an IPA? No, but it's unique, although the flavors are fairly muddled. It's like a mashup of a IPA and a sour or an IPA and a Berliner. It also has some Brut IPA character. Despite the fruity flavors, it is deceptively sour and dry.
