This pushes the line between a vienna lager and a brown ale. (I know, I know, I'm talking about the grain bill).
Nice rich malt that does beyond toast. Like I said, "brown ale" pops in my head as I partake.
Medium brown with gold. Not particularly clear. Small dense tan head. Nice hop flavor (green and herb) shows at the end of the drink with minimal bittering and a soft dryness.
Feel is probably a little heavy for style. That might be beefed up by the richness.
As opens up the toast is clearer but still strong but still enhanced now moving closer to a octoberfest. A little bit of caramel towards the end. This cuts the cleanliness.
Overall, this is fine and worth a taste and maybe more (I've had more than one). But a classic take it is not.
