Poured from a tall can into a tulip.
Pours dark hazy (and early cloudy) gold with a nice fluffy off-white head.
The aromas are pleasant. Mango, pineapple, restrained citrus and faint floral and grass initially. White pepper, white stone fruit, and hints of piney hops as well.
The brew hits the tip of the tongue with plenty of caramel malt, but it quickly rounds out with balancing hops. Tropical, citrus, grass, earth, and dank hops all show up, as promised, and they are all recognizable. Not the muddled mess I feared it would be. Some spicy yeast is just perceptible as well. The only downside is some unexpected and harsh grainy flavors in midstream that distract from the show.
The brew is down the middle medium bodied with excellent carbonation and finish.
Another solid Mankato brew that I like, but falls just short of "outstanding." The harsh grain-hull astringency holds this one back just slightly. However, huge kudos for melding all of these hop flavors together.
