Poured from a can into a pub glass.
Pours medium-gold and slightly hazed with a two-fingered foamy head and a decent lacing throughout.
The brew is honey-sweet on the nose with hints of vegetal, floral and pine hops in the background, and a modest clean grain-malt dryness.
The brew is unexpectedly sweet on the tip of the tongue with some honey-kissed cracker malt, but it quickly transitions to aromatic/herbal hop flavors, including chive, grass, faint shallot, and spices--mostly white pepper. This melds with some white grape and pale peach. Just a hint of booze at the back of the throat.
The brew is medium light. It isn't as "bone dry" as many of the style, but is definitely well-carbonated and crisp.
This is a tough brew to rate "to style," because the Brut IPA hasn't been around forever, and as a style, its key attributes are somewhat up for debate. However, regarding the universally accepted attributes, this one definitely checks the boxes. Paler than a typical IPA; highly aromatic on the nose; not sweet, not bitter. Well carbonated and crisp. Hints of white wine and herbal/spice flavors and aromas. If it just had more aroma and flavor, this would be a rockstar brew. It's still pretty darn good.
