Not bad. But for being in the same general Low Countries as Belgium, Maximus could've done better.
If I were to speculate, Maximus has the intuition to brew a great tripel... but does not yet have the yeast that makes the best tripels great.
Donderstraal has a decent foam that stays around until the end. However its Smells are only slightly above the average of this fruity style. Tastes are balanced properly with hops; and the yeast does seem to produce the peppery finish that many classic tripels have. But it has an off-taste in the post-finish. Not quite medium-mouthed, but would get fuller with a better yeast. Work on the yeast before releasing again is my IMHO advice.
While I usually give young micros more, I only give Maximus good Overall Hugs because I could not find the English translation button and almost everyone here speaks English pretty well. But with no English and with photos showing everyone having a good time, I really don't know what Maximus is about. And brewing is more than having a good time, or at least it is to me. Proost !

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
